The 28th Internal Combustion Engine Symposium was held in Fukuoka. There were over 420 participants from automobile manufacturers, automotive components manufacturers and research institutes. I have believed that the participants have obtained the new direction for engine system from the plenary lectures, forum, many presentations and discussions in general sessions. There were 10 papers form Gasoline combustion team in SI engine, Knocking, Ignition/Combustion and Measurement/Diagnostics sessions.
